“The Present and the Future of Public History”
March 29 (Monday), 14:00-19:00 JST
Two years have passed since the Public History Study Group of Japan was founded in March 2019. Although Covid-19 led to the cancellation of our first anniversary meeting in March 2020, we have subsequently continued our activities online. To commemorate the second anniversary of the Public History Study Group, we are pleased to welcome Serge Noiret who has played a central role in the internationalization of public history and is now working on the topic of digital public history. Our event will feature a keynote lecture by Professor Noiret and a discussion panel on the current state of public history and its future possibilities.
The event will take place on Zoom and YouTube; to register, please email us at: public.history.info@gmail.com. We will send you a URL by the day of the event. Part 1 (panel discussion) will be in Japanese and Part 2 (Prof. Noiret’s lecture) will be in English, with Japanese translation. We look forward to hearing from anyone interested in public history.
